Dzidra Ezergaile (1926-2013)
Born in Riga. School years alternate with summer work in the countryside. In 1947, she began her studies at the Faculty of Architecture of LVU, but in 1951 she transferred to the State Academy of Arts of the LPSR, graduating as a graphic artist - poster artist. Since graduating, she worked as an artist in the editorial office of the magazine "Woman of Soviet Latvia".
Member of the Union of Artists since 1962.
She works in portrait graphics using the printmaking technique and also paints watercolors. The most popular themes of her work are landscape and portrait, she has done a lot of bookmarks and illustrations. Graphic compositions Dz. Ezergaile sets with line and rhythm, which determine the emotional nature of her works. Most often they are etchings printed in cincotype.
Dz. Ezergaile has participated with her works in art exhibitions of the Republic, the All-Union and abroad since 1956. Has held personal exhibitions: the most important in Riga in 1962, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1976, 1986; in 1969 in the History Museum of the LPSR; In 1970, in the Museum of Local History and Art in Madona.
