Gustavs Klucis. The collage by Gustavs Klucis – world famous Latvian artist – is a vivid example of the 20th
century Russian avant-garde. Abiding by the principles of suprematism, the composition has been created as it
were in fl ight, without support, from the centre to periphery. Being a totally abstract combination of geometric
spaces and lines, it still expresses the idea of the age – dynamics and belief in progress. The combination
of different materials and textures makes this composition exquisite. The artist’s works are included in permanent exhibitions
of: the Latvian National Museum of Art, MOMA in New York, “Museum of Modern Art” in San Francisco, “Royal Academy of
Arts” in London, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, etc.
