Romans Suta. A classic sample of the production by the pride of Latvian applied arts – workshop “Baltars”. It combines
modern stylisation, typical of Suta, with the national, panoramic plot. The complex two-level circular composition plays with
the trajectory of dancers’ movement. The placement of fi gures creates associations with the rhythm of music. The scenes of
everyday life, depicted on the outer arch, grants to the open-air dance the power of broad generalisation.
