Vilis Ozols (1929-2014)

Graduated J. Rozentals school of art in Riga (1952) and Painting department at Art academy of Latvia (1958), in 1992 he got master’s degree.

Artist was a pedagogue of preparatory courses in Art academy of Latvia (1959 – 61), senior pedagogue in Drawing department (1961 – 89), head of Painting department (1989 – 91), assistant professor (since 1968), professor (since 1989).

V. Ozols took part in exhibitions since 1957.
Self-exhibitions were made in Dole (1982, together with I. Vecozols), Naukseni (1989), Riga (1989), Cesis and Valmiera (1989, together with S. Ozolins).

He is a member of Artists Union (since 1961) and a member of international art association “B 13”.

In 1958 V. Ozols was awarded with honour diploma of USSR Artists Union. In 1988 he became rich of merits employee of art in Latvia Republic of Soviet Union.
