Eduards Grube (1935) - painter

 

In 1955 E. Grube graduated from J. Rozentals School of Art in Riga. 1961 – graduated from the Painting Department of Latvian Art Academy. 1992 - he achieved master’s degree in Latvian Art Academy.

 Since 1967, E. Grube is a Member of the Latvian Artists’ Union.

1991 he became a Professor of the Latvian Art Academy.

The artist takes part in exhibitions since 1961.

He creates oil paintings, and has worked also in monumental painting. Awards:

1997 – 2nd prize at competition of Saules Bank and A. Sūnas gallery painting exhibition.

1989 – Grand Prix at competition exhibition “World. Developments. People.” in Moscow.

1985 – 1st price at 7th interrepublic painting competition in Riga.

1980, 1984 – 1st price in Arona, Madona.

1975, 1984 – 1st price at Baltic republics triennial of painting in Vilnius.

1976 – Diploma of Latvian Artists’ Union and medal for the best creative performance of the year. E. Grūbe’s works are found in collections of: Art museum Arsenals in Riga, Latvian Artists’ Union, Russian Ministry of Culture, Tretjakov’s State gallery in Moscow, Lithuanian Museum of Art in Vilnius, P. Ludvig’s Modern Art Museum, Jeanne Freifrau von Oppenheim collection in Cologne, in Germany and other private collections.
