Elza Druja-Forshu (1906-1991) - Graphic artist, painter.
In 1932 graduated from the graphic department of AAL, workshop by R. Zarinsh; diploma work - "The Portrait of the Chunchinya Violinist" (etching). She received orders from the Riga City Council and worked on famous buildings drawing in Riga (110 etchings). Also received recognition as an illustrator of the magazine "Atpūta". In 1942, she created her own edition; has released several small format monographs about artists. In 1944, she immigrated to Germany. Was a member of the German band "Ring". In 1950, she immigrated to the United States. Participated in Latvian and American artists exhibitions; organized several personal exhibitions. Member of the Connecticut Artists Association. In 1957, she elected as member of the Board of the Connecticut Artists Association. Honorary Member of the American-Latvian Artists Association (since 1987). She painted portraits, acts, still lifes (flowers), genre scenes. Artworks of the Latvian period characterized by the exact drawing and dark coloring. Many works made in watercolor techniques.
