Meeting

Ieva Baklane (Born in 1974. 13. VII Riga, Latvia)

1992 – Graduated Secondary Art school of J. Rozentals;

1998 – Graduated Art Academy of Latvia, Monumental Painting department under guidance of Kaspars Zarins and A. Naumovs with diploma work “Thousand and three nights and rouses”;

2001 – Art Magisterial work “At the searching and development. My four solo – exhibitions at the gallery “Daugava”.

Since 1990 took part at the exhibitions:

1994 – Member of Artist Union of Latvia;

1998 – 2000 – Artist’s group “B – 13” member.

Solo exhibitions:

1995, 1996, 1998 and 1999 – “Still life”;

1996 – Berlin;

1999 – “Domino”;

2000 – “Perfect day”;

2001 – “Viva Libre”.

She painted compositions with stylization nature elements. At own works Ieva used clear and bright color compositions, in painting included a collage. She made paraphrase 19 – 20 century painting master’s (A. Matisse, R. Lihtanstein)

She took a prize of “Saules banka” at competition organized by A.Suna at 1997, about work “The Roses”.

Prize of Latvia’s Navigation about work “Windy day” at the 1998.
