Rough sea

            Till 2 World war Janis Skucs worked at the Liepajas Theater as a stage designer assistant.

            He graduated landscape master class at the Academy of Art under guidance of V. Purvitis with diploma work “At the sawmill”.

Artist took part at the exhibitions since 1938.

-         Self exhibition at Riga „From Baltic sea till Antarctic continent” 1967.

-         Member of Artist Union since 1945.

-         1951 he painted only seascape influenced from sea trip to Ruhnu island in own works he depicted Baltic Sea, Atlantic, Indian, Antarctic Ocean.

Skucs painted also sea said landscapes, ships at the sea and flowers too - awarded with honor medal.
