Liga Kalnina
Artist Liga Kalnina(1990) is born in Riga, Latvia.
Her artist interests is mainly realistically based -landscapes, architecture, portraits, still life's, collages, assemblages with decorative features like gold or silver leaves, hot glue textures and experiments with painting possibilities.
Her artist ideas interact with my experience and time. Artist Liga Kalnina is interested in depth and clarity of expression and exploration of monumental shape, space, scale, and speed. Her goal in art is to create her own story of this time, capturing timeless emotions and passions.
Recent years artist is working on long time project capturing her hometown Kemeri. Since 2022 there is made drawings and paintings of different brand Perfume bottles combined with artistic self made frames.
Her painter career begin with early childhood watercolor exercise.
Professional education was gained graduating Art school of Jurmala(2009), Art teachers bachelor(2013) and Pedagogy master(2015) in University of Latvia, and Art science master in Art Academy of Latvia(2017).
Exhibition experience since 2005, personal show in 2009, more than 35 group exhibitions participant in 2022.
Have written scientific article in early children artistic education (2016), gained art pedagogy practice in Austria 2015.
Member of Artist Union of Latvia since 2018.
Her work is in collection of Latvia Artist Union museum collection.
Winner of Art competitions and exhibition viewer prices (Art Day's 2018, Marina Biennial 2019).
Had art residency in Zvartava castle 2019.
Participant of online residency in India in Art for change project supporting mental health on autumn 2020.
Participant of postcard art project “Postcard perspectives” in Oklahoma, USA (2020, 2021).
Finalist of Young Painter prize 2020.
Regular participant of Grata prize charity exhibition in Museum LV gallery in Riga, Latvia (since 2019)
Regular participant of landscape painting exhibitions in Old Riga St. Peters cathedral dedicated to Latvian landscape artist Jazeps Pigoznis.
Regular participant of MARINA Biennial (since 2019) and Doncaster art fair(2020, 2022).

Now living in small Latvian city Kemeri and capital city Riga.
Member of the Latvian Artists' Union since 2018.
Her works are in the collection of the Latvian Artists' Union Museum, private collections and the permanent exhibition of the Ķemeri Primary School.
Exhibition experience since 2005, solo exhibitions in 2009 and 2022, participant in more than 45 group exhibitions to date. Co-author of exterior wall paintings in the Sabile center and in Riga at Valdemāra Street 109.
Portrait artist during the Riga Festival in Vērmaņdārz, Sabile City Festival, ABLV Banka client celebrations, "Flash You and Me" design 10th anniversary celebration "Draw me like Your french Girls". Participated in the Dzintari Concert Hall projects "Music in Colors".
Author of a scientific article on early childhood artistic education (2016), gained art pedagogy practice in Austria (2015).
Winner of art competitions and exhibition audience awards (I live by the sea 2005, 2008, Young Star in painting 2008, Art Days. Art Time. 2018, Marina Biennial 2019). Stayed in an art residency at Zvārtava Castle in 2019.
Participant of an online residency in India as part of the Art for change project in the fall of 2020.
