Ivars Heinrihsons (1945 22 IX Latvia) – painter


I. Heinrihsons graduated secondary Art school of J. Rozentals at 1964.

II. Studies at Art Academy of Latvia, painting department under guidance E. kalnins ( diploma work “ Offensive”)

Artist worked at secondary Art school by J. Rozentals (1972 – 1973) and Art Academy of Latvia, Faculty of pedagogical as senior lecturer since 1973, associate professor since 1992.

Artist took part at the exhibitions since 1973.

Solo exhibitions:

Jurmala, Latvia (with H. Heinrihsone), 1976;

Riga, Latvia 1986, 1991;

Berlin, Germany 1989, With H. Heinrihsone

                  Member of Artist Union since 1978, artist is social active in his artistically live, was a member of painting unity. He is written book “The drawing program for children’s art schools” (1988).

Heinrihsons paint mainly in oil to large canvas. His thematic is mainly horses, ballet, rifle and piano, to enlarge on interior or surroundings inspiration and analysis by chaos and harmony. In his paintings big importance is turning to drawing and line and tonality, mainly in grey color, the expressivity emphasized with white and black accent.
