Indulis Gailāns (1962-2012) – Scenographer.

Graduated from J. Rozentāls Art High School in Riga (1980) and LVMA Painting Department, majoring in scenography (1986); thesis – scenography for Sudrabu Edžu's performance "Dullais Dauka" in Daile Theater (director A. Freibergs). Participates in exhibitions since 1982; personal exhibition "Sun's Nest" in Riga (1991). He has been working in scenography since 1983. A member of the Latvian Scenographers Union since 1992. In the early stages of his creative activity, he designed stage costumes for several new productions of the National Theater, but later he worked mainly at the Daile Theater; director of this theater (1989-91). LMA pedagogue (since 1993).

Scenographer for the productions of several large-scale performances. The clear, laconic, statically unbound forms of the scenography, the imaginative, multi-meaning use of individual elements and fragments of the environment highlight the dimensions of the space and the actions of the actor in them. He also worked in graphics, created installation compositions and artistically designed public events.
