Wilhelm Georg Timm. The professor, who was born in Latvia and received academic education in
Petersburg, once created the interior design for Moscow Kremlin. He graduated from Petersburg Academy
of Arts with 1st Degree Silver Medal. In mid-19th century lived in Riga. Participated in World’s Fair in Paris,
later, while working at the Berlin Royal Porcelain Manufacture, was awarded the title of Professor of
Prussian Academy of Art. Was active in military art, genre and landscape painting, his fame mainly rested on his drawings –
illustrations and lithographs on subjects of urban life.
