Eduards Jurkelis (1910 - 1978) - Painter

1927-1931 studied at Jelgava gymnasium.

1931-1938 studied at the Academy of Arts in Latvia, where has graduated landscape painting workshop with graduation work "Jelgava" (city of Jelgava), graduation managed by Vilhelms Purvitis. The painting persihed together with other hundred of oil paintings at city of Jelgava during the fire of year 1944.

Was one of the founders of student organisation "Zaļā zeme" (Green land) and proactive organisators of ehxibitions during 1932 - 1935. Member of Union of Artists from 1946, one of it's members of the board, member of Painter section office, watercolor painters subsection premier. Supervisor of his own studio at Jelgava during 1935-1938.
