(May 21, 1948, Riga - December 26, 2009, Riga) - painter, graphic artist, poet, translator.
Vladimir Glushkenkov was born in family with Russian-Polish-German roots.
V. Glushenkovs graduated from the Riga School of Applied Arts (sculpture class) and the Art Academy of Latvia with a degree in scenography (1976).
The artist has participated in exhibitions since the late 1960s. From 1976 to 1996 - Latvian Television artist set designer. V. Glushenkovs has performed at the Latvian National and Theater "Daile", as well as at the post-Youth Theater (in the time of the chief director O. Škatov), at the independent theater “Kabata”; he has designed large-format posters for the cinemas "Riga" and "Spartaks". In the 1970s, he was an illustrator for the magazine Liesma.
