                            AUCTION  1  - 03.03.2008 The gallery of Classical Art "Antonia" and Art Gallery of Ivonna Veiherte, cooperating with PRIVATE BANKING  of a/s Hansabanka was organize auction by contemporary and classical artist’s paintings in 3. March at the hall „Saules akmens” - Balasta dambis 1a, 2 store.
Summarizing the results of auction: from 162 art works, what was offered, the selling by auction was 70 %. That is very high result in Latvia’s auction business, what is new.
The uppermost bidding cost amounted painting “Opera”, painted by Janis Valters (Johanes Walter-Kurau) in 1918. – the selling price was 85 000 Ls. The painting painted in traditions of modernism by K. Miesnieks – “Women with punkah”, increment was from 14 000 – 40 000.
The best difference between beginning price and result, was sold painting “Vansa” by A. Belcova, painted in traditions of cubism (result from 4 000 – 34 000).
Was not surprise, than painting by V. Nemukhin, what is international recognized, was sold by 11 000 Ls.
Is possible, than record was bidding by Latvian artist A. Vilipson’s bronze relief – bust of artist K. Padegs, what was sold by 8 000. As usual, the high estimation was for artworks by L. Liberts “Vase with flowers”(6 500 Ls), E. Kalnin’s marine “Yachts in the sea”(5 600 Ls), the works by R. Pinnis “The birch in the wind” (4 700 Ls) and “Fest” (4 200 Ls) as well as F. Varslavans “Flower"(4 400 Ls).
